What does Legal Aid Service mean, what kind of services are included, who can make us of legal aid service, why the existence and organized working of this service is important – the invited guests spoke about these issues in the program “Euroview”
In the rubric “Consideration of Expert”, audience could listen to Tamar Kaldani, “Open Society Georgia Foundation “Human Rights and Good Governance Program Manager. “Open Society Georgia Foundation” has been involved in legal aid service system reform and was one of the initiators of creating European standards system in Georgia. By participating the foundation, the law of legal service had been prepared, which was accepted by Parliament in June, 2007.
European Union continues supporting development of justice system in Georgia. On may 6, 2009 the new project “Capacity Building in Support of Rule of Law in Georgia” was launched. Tamar Khulordava spoke about this project.
The invited guests spoke about the kinds of free legal aid service models existed in western countries and how important for Georgia is to share their experience. The guests mentioned, that Georgian model is different from all the other models and it roused quite a big interest of foreign colleagues.
