Protecting intellectual property rights in Georgia

In the transmission also took part Delegation of the EU to Georgia project manager Virginie Cossoul.

There is a special chapter destined for intellectual property and industrial property rights in the EU-Georgia action plan of European neighborhood policy, where some requirements topics are touched, that Georgia had to comply during the last years.

Mr. Irakli Gvaladze mentioned, that the working activities in the National Intellectual Property Centre assists to provide full accordance of intellectual property rights with “agreement about collaboration and partnership”.

The guest explained what’s the main point and on what is based intellectual property rights. He spoke, that intellectual property protection mainly contains to fields: copyrights and industrial property rights.

We had an opportunity to listen to specially prepared reporting about the awareness level of the society about intellectual property and copyright.

In the rubric  “Review of Europe” we offered to audience a short historical excursus and spoke, how the principles of existing system of intellectual property rights were founded.

Project manager of EU delegation to Georgia, Virginie Cossoul spoke about the dependence of EU countries towards the intellectual property issues. How important are these issues, in what is expressed the help of EU countries for Georgia.
