Gender Balance

Invited guests:

Eka Tsereteli – manager of the program “Civil initiation for equal participation”;

Marina Solomonashvili – head of the council working on the gender issues at the office of the Public defender of Georgia;

Nino Javakhishvili – professor of state university of Georgia.

The invited guests spoke about the meaning and importance of gender balance, how actual is this issue in Georgia and in other European countries. What is the understanding of gender balance among the citizens of Georgia and among the citizens of other countries?

According to the Georgian low gender balance is fully protected. Georgia has certified international documents, which forbids gender discrimination. On the level of low, problem doesn’t exist. Problem is in realizing and defending these problems.

Regional coordinator of the project “Civil initiation for equal participation” Khatuna Khmaladze from Akhalcikhe Region, Kamila Mamedova from Marneuli and Marina Mgebrishvili from Shida Qartli, also took part in program.
