Giorgi Tugushi and Besarion Bokhashili discussed the activities planned within the framework of the project, specifically the significance of the reinforcement of monitoring and institutional capabilities of the Public Defender’s Office. They also talked about the importance of the enhancement of society’s awareness in the sphere of human rights and supremacy of law.

The guests discussed the creation of an analytical section in the Public Defender’s Office, that will assist the Office in conducting fundamental research on  human rights issues, preparing  reports, recommendations, conducting trainings and elaborating specific monitoring rules.

The Public Defender also talked about  the opportunity  to implement the Office’s obligations and highlighted several obstacles.

The guests  discussed the legislative base that is being created for the effective functioning of Public Defender’s Institute.

Listeners were provided with a brief history of the  Ombudsmen’s institute.
