Listeners were provided with information  on the Climate Week taking place in Georgia in October 2009 with the support of European Commission and with active NGO participation. The guests explained the importance of climate change and its implications globally.

Medea Inashvili – representative of the Climate Change Division of the Ministry of Environment Protection and Natural Resources, discussed Georgian legislation and the obligations of the state with regard to fighting climate change.

Listeners expressed their views. According to them, the legal base should be enhanced, society’s awareness should raise,  transport should diminish and standard labs should be established.

Mikheil Tushishvili, Deputy Head of the Integrated Environment Management Department, Ministry of Environment Protection and Natural Resources, discussed policies implemented by the Ministry against air pollution. According to him, Georgia faces problems concerning the monitoring of air quality.

At the end of the transmission, Michael Nekvasil talked about the project, planned to be implemented in Georgia in 2010 and oriented towards the improvement of air quality.
