Irakli Kasrashvili, Director of the International NGO “Mercy Corps” Mission in Georgia, presented the project. “Akhalkalaki Social and Marketing Linkages” has been implemented with the support of the EU. Its purpose is to develop agriculture and support farmers.  Kasrashvili outlined results in the Akhalkalaki region during the period  2005-2009.

The Head of the International Relations Department of the Ministry of Agriculture of Georgia spoke about the cooperation between Georgia’s Ministry of Agriculture and the EU in the field of agriculture and about the requirements the Georgian agricultural products should meet in order to have  access to EU markets.

The head of the Economic Division at the Regional Development Department of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development  spoke about the relevance of agricultural development for rural communities.
