Hello Europe with just one click!
Welcome to “Hello Europe”, the portal that links the European Union with neighbouring countries in the South Caucasus.
“Hello Europe” aims at maximising understanding of the values that are at the base of the European Neighbourhood Policy, including democracy, respect of the rule of law, good governance and respect for human rights. For this purpose in 2009 and 20101 a group of television and radio broadcasters, print and online publishers in Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia worked closely with an international NGO that aims at harnessing the power of media and information to help people hold their governments accountable, develop tolerant and prosperous communities, and make sense of the driving forces affecting their lives.
Through TV, radio, Internet and print, the project was part of the ENPI Information and Communication Programme. Working in their local languages, journalists from the region were able to integrate a maximum of high quality EU and EU-ENP relevant information into the content of their media products.
By drawing attention to the human dimension of the ENP, “Hello Europe” aims at energising the partnership between citizens of the EU and citizens of Armenia, Georgia and Azerbaijan and at enhancing interaction among different societies and cultures. It also aims at improving relations among citizens of neighbouring countries in the region, by stimulating debate and sense of involvement among people.
Armenia, Georgia and Azerbaijan are important ENP beneficiary countries, as they are at the centre of heated political debates and economic negotiations. In a region where media outlets play an important role as sources of popular culture and disseminators of political information “Hello Europe” striveed to guarantee quantitative and qualitative growth on media production devoted to in-depth coverage of ENP issues, reaching all social groups, with an emphasis on young people. The potential overall audience of the project was 12-15 million, including diasporas reached by satellite broadcasting.
On this website, you will find interesting information on political, economic and cultural issues and on the latest news from throughout the entire EU. Link up with people from the EU and its neighbourhood!
“Hello Europe” TV and radio broadcasts can be downloaded or watched in live stream format. Recent print and Internet articles are available in the original language. The print and online section for each country provides you with articles and further links relating to the topic, giving you insights about EU policy and cooperation between the EU and your country.
